Official Blog Hop Overview

March Madness: That time of year when women across the country are left to their own devices during the NCAA basketball playoff tournament.

Sure we could do some early spring cleaning, catch up on laundry, organize closets, and throw out all the junk in the garage/attic, but where’s the fun in that? So, instead of work, we thought we’d host our version of March Madness: a prize filled hop presented by some of the best names in romance. And we’ve made it easy for you to join in.

Simply hop from blog to blog—the links are below—and “follow”, “Like”, “Friend” etc. the authors sites then leave a comment on their blog post. Each author is running their own giveaway as well as participating in the Rafflecopter Grand-Prize Giveaway of a Kindle Fire OR Nook Color, A $50 Amazon/B&N Gift Card, A $25 Amazon/B&N Gift Card, and 6 – $10 Amazon/B&N Gift Cards, as well as a “basket” of books. The event is live from March 5 – March 31st, 2013 to give you plenty of time to tour all the sites.

Comment for a Chance To Win Along Came Trouble

My college boyfriend played basketball, and I once won $50 for cheering louder than anyone else at a March Madness event (or possibly just being the most annoying person there), but these days my basketball fandom is confined to blog hops. What about you — are you a superfan, a basketball widow, or completely indifferent? Tell me a fan story to be entered for one of two ebook copies of my March 11 release, Along Came Trouble.

I regret to say that I am not a fan of basketball (is there something wrong with me??) but I adore the SF 49r’s and the Giants baseball so I guess I’m not a complete sports idiot. I have pre-ordered “Along Came Trouble” so really looking forward to reading your next book!

  2. Justine says:

I’m completely indifferent although when asked, I’ll automatically cheer for UK because that’s where I spent my childhood.

  3. TrishJ says:

Not a big basketball fan, although I did see the Boston Celtics once. I think Larry Byrd was still playing. (Wow, how old does that make me).

  4. JenM says:

I have to admit, basketball is the one sport that I’ve never liked. I enjoy entering the march madness pool at work, but I never actually watch any of the games. I do like football, baseball, and hockey though.

  5. Joy R says:

This is the first time I’ve participated in anything like this so I truly hope I am doing this right. I really want to win your new book. ;) So, about basketball…I am a serious liberal and shun anything where I see people making millions of dollars for simply entertaining people, i.e., sports, television, movies, etc. while there are people going to bed hungry. Been there. I have no issue with people making a living doing what they know and love but millions/billions? Really? I will stop now or I could get on my soapbox and live there. LOL. Anyway, lets just end it by saying I could care less about any and all professional sports. I’ll be reading most likely since that’s pretty much what I do with all my spare time and extremely limited budget. I stumbled across your books because of a 99 cent book that turned out to be awesome. Now I’m a big fan. So there you have it.

  6. Jen G. says:

I’m not a big sports fan. I grew up in basketball country (Kentucky), so I can handle it in small doses. That said, I went to Duke for grad school (which thrilled my UK-crazy family!), and my friends forced me to attend a couple of games while I was there. One game in Cameron will make anyone a Duke fan! (And by fan, I mean I’ll watch them if they make it to the Final Four.)

  7. Jenni says:

#Marchmadness…..something….oh gee, I’ve already forgotten what the instructions say n

    Anyway.

I like sports fine, but I’m not really a basketball fan. On a first date, this dude took me to a Mavs game. He had “amazing” seats with his company. I guess I wasn’t appreciative enough because: a) I got in trouble for talking too much, b) I was mocking “superfan” sitting by the bench…and then my date told me that was Mark Cuban the owner, so yes, that’s probably why he acts like he owns the team, and c) I was slightly annoyed that we didn’t leave until the second the game had finished.

    There was no second date.

  9. Heather MacKenzie says:

I love March Madness although I do not love basketball. There is just something about the fact that a little school can enter the brackets and take down one of the giant schools. The upsets are what I enjoy. I try to make it out to a local pub and cheer along with other fans for a least a couple of rounds and I have been known to be a bit loud while there. Thanks for participating in the blog hop!!

    • Ruthie says:

I love the upsets, too! Our local university is division 1 for no reason I can fathom, and whenever they don’t get knocked out in the first round, it’s cause for great excitement.

  10. Connie says:

Back in the mid-to-late 1970s I was a high-school basketball cheerleader, because at that time in that place, girls didn’t play sports, they just smiled and rooted for the boys. When I got to college, I read Germaine Greer’s “The Female Eunuch” and haven’t looked back. :)

It’s been 35 years since high school, and I still don’t like watching any kind of basketball — it’s too closely associated with memories of subverting my real desires to please the boys. But I love nearly all other sports, especially ice hockey. Go, Pittsburgh Penguins!

  12. LSUReader says:

#MarchMadnessHop…Let the fun begin. I like basketball. Actually, the NBA was the first pro league I followed. Then I discovered football…

I grew up in the south and went to a football college; Hubby attended a solid basketball school. The spring our first child was born, our two college teams played each other in the NCAA Final Four. It seemed whichever of us was holding the little one saw team success on the court. (Superstitious? You bet!) So, yeah, we argued over the kid. “It’s my turn to hold him!” “No you had him at the last timeout!” “Let me change him!” etc. I regret to info you that Hubby was stronger and his team prevailed. His team went on to win the NCAA title. Three years later, when our daughter was born, we had high hopes. But no repeat on the basketball luck. I wish you all the best with your basketball picks. Go Team!

  14. Lola says:

My Dad and I enjoyed watching the Yankee’s on TV, but since he has passed my Mom prefers not to watch any sports including basketball; which isn’t a problem because I love to read. LOL!

I am a football and basketball fan. I flow from football season right into basketball season. I am a die hard Lakers fan and after the Superbowl, I follow them faithfully. I follow college football at the same time as the pros. I love the excitement of the March Madness tournaments. I usually root for the underdogs in the tournament, unless my favorite team (UCLA) is playing.

I got a chance to go to an NBA final game. It was the Boston Celtics playing the Houston Rockets. I was visiting my dad and a good friend of mine was good friends with one of the Boston players. I got to sit under the Boston basket and watch the game from there. It was one of the best times of my life.
Thanks for being part of the March Madness hop and for the chance to win.

I actually live in a state where basketball is something that most people follow religiously (Kentucky) but I just don’t get into it. Unless it is one of my nephews playing (the oldest is 12), I just ignore it.

I’m not a basketball fan, but I am a big tennis fan. My sister was going on a business trip and spotted Monica Seles at the airport. My sister told Monica that I’m a fan and asked for her autograph. She was nice enough to give me a personalized autograph. #MarchMadnessHop

  20. Shelley says:

Nope a big sports fan and could not care less about basketball. My almost 93 year old granny, however, is HUGE sports fan and watches all the games. Go, Granny! LOL!

  21. Vicki Powell says:

Absolutely LOVE basketball since my sons played in high school! But always have a book handy just in case!

  22. Veronica says:

Only care about basketball if in the stands watching the game and in the exciting atmosphere. Watching it on tv? Meh. #MarchMadnessHop

  23. Erin Rathjen says:

I am a March Madness fanatic and, before having kids, was known to call in sick at work to sit at a bar with multiple television screens so I can monitor the numerous brackets entered in a variety of pools for the first Thursday and Friday of the tournament. With my level of intensity and number of colored highlighters people generally assume I’m making huge wagers, but it is all in house competition. I went and married my Grinnell College basketball player boyfriend and it brings me great joy when my brackets outperform his brackets. Thank you for your genius books– they also bring me great joy!! #MarchMadnessHop

  24. Coleen B. says:

#MarchMaddnessHop- luckily in our house basketball is not an obsession. But fishing & baseball
are. Thank goodness for great books!

  25. Moran says:

Since I live outside of the US the all basketball madness means nothing to me- I read about it in the paper but nothing more.
Since I already read and really enjoyed Along Came Trouble pleas don’t enter me to your contest- I wrote a comment as part of the big giveaway.

  26. Kim Pinch says:

I love playing and watching hockey and always enjoy both the summer and winter olympics. March madness is the only basketball I watch, they are alway great games and I enjoy filling out brackets and trying to beat my kids. They get really competitive when mom is winning and they know I just randomly picked teams. #MarchMadnessHop sounds like fun and I will enjoy hopping around while the games are on.

  27. Fran Lewis says:

#MarchMadnessHop In the past I was a fan of Star Trek and comics and loved to read fanfiction. But then I had 3 boys. So to protect myself from being bored stiff while sitting thru another middle school sporting event, I began to actually pay attention to the games. While I’m still not a big basketball fan, I now really enjoy baseball and football. I even listen to our local sports radio station to keep up with the news. I’ve just discovered your books via the DABWAHA tournament and they sound awesome. Good luck.

  28. Dabney Grinnan says:

Well, it’s a fracked up fan story, but when I was hugely pregnant with my second child, my husband and I were in Asheville, as was Daniel Day-Lewis. He’d just wrapped Last of the Mohicans. I decided to ask him for an autograph for the woman who was caring for my grandmother. My grandmother had severe senile dementia and was cared for around the clock by a mother and daughter team. The daughter lived for movie magazines–this was in 1991. I thought it would be nice to get a REAL movie star’s autograph for her so I bought a card and waddled up to Mr. Day-Lewis. I felt utterly relaxed until he looked up at me and then I became a blithering idiot. The first words out of my mouth were “Excuse me, but my grandmother’s losing her mind.” The conversation went downhill from there. Even worse, the caretaker had never heard of Daniel Day-Lewis and I suspect she threw the card away.

    • Ruthie says:

In 1991, I would have willingly given up my left hand to get an autograph from Daniel Day-Lewis. But I suspect I would also have blithered, had I met him. Great story!

  29. BookAttict says:

The reason I really can’t get into basketball can be explained in 2 words — Sneaker squeaks! Sneaker squeaks are like nails on a chalkboard to be and I can’t watch basketball without cringing! (although I AM enjoying this #MarchMadnessHop)!

    Thanks for the amazing giveaway!

  30. Lol, basketball is a sport I really hate. Find it way too boring, so I don’t watch it.
