Hola, Sixers!
I’m in the mood for something different today, so this six is taken from a novella I wrote a while back. It’s tentatively called Big Boy, and it’s going to be part of an anthology that I’m planning with Meg Maguire, Serena Bell, Samantha Hunter, and Donna Cummings called Strangers on a Train. The name of the anthology pretty much says it all. This six comes from near the beginning.
“Are my seams straight?” I ask, pausing in my walk so I can tip the arch of my foot toward the floor of the train car and point my toe. I glance over my shoulder, the epitome of coy.
I’m Marilyn Monroe from Some Like It Hot tonight. I coaxed Lisa into sewing the black satin dress for me, adding fringe from a flapper costume I found at Goodwill. Lisa says that in this dress, my ass looks like two puppies fighting under a blanket.
The banked fire in his eyes tells me that’s a good thing.
Thanks for visiting! This week’s other participants can be found here.

“two puppies fighting under a blanket” *snorts* Cute description, Ruthie! Nice six
Cute six! lol
Sweet! Love the reference to Some Like It Hot. LOL The last line is a keeper!
Great six.
Ha! Love it. Fight puppies, fight!!
Love that last line!!!
two puppies line cracked me up! Great 6 as always!
Two puppies fighting under a blanket! Buaahahaahaa! It sounds like fun times are ahead – what a fun six!
I think the tentative title of the novella says a little something, too! (Don’t disappoint me and tell me Big Boy is the train.) Great word choices here, ‘epitome of coy’, ‘banked fire’, and of course, those puppies. Awesome.
Big Boy *is* the train, but the title has multiple resonances. One of which is, yes, a dick joke.
I suppose my disappointment can be assuaged by the resonance of a good dick joke
Fun snippet, can’t wait to hear more about this train ride!
LOL…fun six
I have to agree with everyone else. Great word choice for a fun six!
Two puppies – LOL. And he’s definitely turned on!
I loved this! How in the hell did your brain come up with that description? It boggles the mind in the best of ways.
First of all I agree – what an imagination!! and secondly thanks for finding the typo in mine – several people read it before I posted it but you’re the only one who found it. Much appreciated
Two puppies…snort…good for her. I’m more like lady from Steel Magnolias who had 2 pigs fighting inside her skirt. Very cute.
